JC Araujo was born and raised in soccer-mad Lima-Peru where at a very young age he played for historic Colegio Hermanos Maristas in the city of Callao.  At 8 years of age, JC anchored the team as keeper all the way to a final and that is when his love affair with soccer began.  After his family immigrated to the United States, his youth soccer coaching history began in the mid 1990s.

Coaching Experience:

  • AYSO Regions 146, 305 & 223 (MDSA)

Leadership Experience:

2007-2010 JC was nominated as the Regional Commissioner of Mt. Diablo Soccer Association (MDSA) - AYSO Region 223. Some of his major accomplishments were:

  1. 20% growth in MDSA player registration - over 2,000 registered players during first year.

  2. Led the installation of a total turn key on-line solution from player information system to games and referee schedule management.

  3. Founded the Mt. Diablo World Cup tournament (FIFA World Cup format) - fall 2008

  4. Lobbied & developed guidelines for AYSO Area 2C wide launch of "Elite” Program. The Elite program has allowed youth players in AYSO an affordable pathway to compete in Contra Costa County against other leagues year round.

Winter of 2010 - JC established the Legendary Soccer Academy to allow him to pursue his vision:

“To provide soccer programs that enrich the lives of children by inspiring them to play soccer like the legends of the game.”
